Overview & Reviews
The Five Hundred is an all-new premium family sedan built on the Volvo S80 platform. Both front- and all-wheel-drive versions are available.
- Spacious cabin, huge trunk, smooth ride quality, available all-wheel drive, plenty of safety features.
- Mediocre engine performance, some low-grade interior materials, no stability control.

So far so good - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
By hexanero - December 23 - 4:13 pmThis car handles perfectly. Steering is extremely responsive for a larger car. Interior room in enormous. You can probably stick a smaller car in the trunk. The 6 speed provideds a very smooth shift. The brakes are pretty good. Overall the car is really quiet, its safe, and it fun to drive. The larger style mirrors provide excellent visibility. I would def purchase again.

Head Turner - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
By Phil - November 8 - 6:16 pmWe are pleasantly surprised at the ride and fuel efficiency this Ford Five Hundred AWD Limited has. Also the performance gives the driver a feel of being in a high-end vehicle for a whole lot less money. This auto for the price is a must have vehicle in its class. We test drove a lot of vehicles and we are very happy with its overall results. People aways stop and ask what kind of vehicle it is.

Cruising in the suburbs - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
By Steven Salloway - November 7 - 4:30 pmThis is a nice car. I test drove many cars in its class. This one beat them all and for less money! The gas mileage is great. The car has scored very high in safety features. The back seat is the largest you will find anywhere. It has a timeless understated look to it that everyone seems to like. For such a large car the fuel economy is going over its sticker. It has raised seating that allows for better visibility

I Like - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
By Chet - August 21 - 2:40 amI am very pleased with all aspects of my 500. Most of my driving is around town, so I dont really know about highway mileage but I get a little over 15 mpg in town. Im not an aggressive driver so I dont expect much improvement although I have only 1700 miles on my car.

My first American Car... - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
By JohnV - August 11 - 12:43 pm...and I love it! Glad we found this wonderful, large comfortable car - at such a great price. The styling is a bit on the vanilla side but who cares. Its attractive to me and thats all that matters. The command seating gives me a fantastic view of the road. The leg room for me (5-8) and my wife (5-4) is more than generous and the trunk can carry almost anything you can throw at it. This car, in my opinion, is a much better value than any strangely styled Honda, Nissan or Toyota on the road today.

Ford 500 Review - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
By Jenalan - August 2 - 7:26 amA surprising great car. Not as soft as the bigger Ford. Real nice interior. Good ride.

This car is a great deal - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
By BillU - July 26 - 1:03 pmI have owned the car for 6 weeks, 3800 miles. Average 25 mpg with a 60/40 city/highway mix of travel. Acceleration off the line is average, but where the CVT really shines is highway passing-instant torque puts you where you want to be. Car handles high speed very well. Interior nicely fits my 63" frame, trunk would bring a smile to a made mans face. Fit and finish very good. Very happy with the purchase, like it better now than when I first drove it.

I love this car - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
By Juudede - July 25 - 11:26 pmAfter 5 years with an SUV which I hated, I tested a Camry XLE and a Maxima, which were my dream cars. I was so disappointed with them both. So I went back to my Ford dealer to try the Five Hundred and I was wowed. I just picked it up 2 days ago and I cant wait to run errands. Ive got the Limited AWD, and all these bells and whistles will be so convenient. I will report back in a few months, and I hope that I have as many good things to say as I have read here already on this site. I just dont understand why Ford wasnt advertising this vehicle more aggressively.

The best 4 door on the market - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
By lazman - June 25 - 10:00 amThis car is a 50% cost luxury car that can compete with any Audi or Lexus. It is a beautiful car with great road manners and is a steal for $29.000.

Ford 500 a Great Value - 2005 Ford Five Hundred
By Scott Olson - June 10 - 9:10 amThe new Ford 500 is a great value. At $24,000 for a mid-range fully equiped model, its priced about $5,000 less than one would expect for the features and quality. People have said its under-powered. I dont see that driving the highways of metro-Detroit. It will accelerate up hill into a 70 mph zone without any problem.
